Meg and Mac’s wedding at The Colonial Hotel in Gardner, Massachusetts, was a perfect blend of their unique personality and the venue’s classic New England charm. From heartfelt moments to playful details, their day was as unforgettable as their love story.
Meg and Mac’s journey began during their junior year at UMass Amherst. A friendly game of rock-paper-scissors led to casual dining hall dates, which quickly blossomed into something more. Over the years, they bonded over iced coffees, bird-watching adventures, and shared breakfasts.
Fast forward to a special trip to Acadia National Park, where Mac planned the ultimate surprise. While admiring the serene views at Jordan Pond, he encouraged Meg to take a closer look at the ducks through binoculars. When she turned back around, Mac was holding a ring. Of course, Meg said yes!
Meg and Mac envisioned a day that was relaxed, fun, and stress-free for everyone involved. With a color palette of blue, green, and grey, the couple’s wedding exuded understated elegance.
The Colonial Hotel was the perfect venue for their celebration. Its ample accommodations allowed their guests to stay on-site, creating a sense of togetherness throughout the weekend. The couple both got ready at the hotel, surrounded by the warm, inviting atmosphere of its unique brick arches and grand staircase—a favorite feature for the couple.
The ceremony was held indoors, offering an intimate and heartfelt setting, while cocktail hour flowed between indoor and outdoor spaces. Guests were treated to thoughtful, personal details, including a bar named after their beloved calico cat, Bailey, and cat-themed cake toppers. Adding a touch of whimsy, the flower girl charmed everyone by passing out Hawaiian leis during the reception—a sweet moment that had everyone smiling (and even earned me a few leis myself!).
The Colonial Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for Meg and Mac’s wedding. With its romantic charm and impeccable service, the venue ensures every wedding feels special. The Grand Ballroom, capable of hosting intimate gatherings or grand celebrations of up to 400 guests, captures the essence of New England sophistication.
The hotel’s professional staff and talented executive chef left no detail overlooked, allowing Meg and Mac to enjoy a stress-free day focused on their loved ones. Its gardens, timeless architecture, and luxurious accommodations made the experience unforgettable for everyone.
Meg and Mac’s wedding was a heartfelt celebration of love, joy, and family. From their college sweetheart beginnings to their beautiful Colonial Hotel wedding, their story is one of kindness, connection, and shared dreams.
