Zoe and Mike’s South Shore summer wedding day was everything they had dreamed of: laidback, warm, and filled with so much love and laughter. From their heartfelt ceremony at St. Mary of the Nativity Church in Scituate to the stunning reception at the historic Daniel Webster Estate in Marshfield, their day was the perfect blend of elegance and fun.
The day began in the most meaningful way, with Zoe and her bridesmaids getting ready at her childhood home in Scituate. Surrounded by her family and closest friends, the morning was full of smiles, happy tears, and sweet moments. Just three minutes away, Mike and his groomsmen prepared at his parents’ home, adding to the relaxed and personal feel of the day.
The ceremony took place at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, a beautiful spot in Scituate Harbor. This church held special meaning for Zoe, as it was where she grew up attending with her family. The ceremony was heartfelt and touching, with Zoe and Mike’s love shining brightly as they exchanged their vows.
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to the Daniel Webster Estate, a historic gem in Marshfield. With its vintage charm and beautiful grounds, it was the ideal backdrop for their summer wedding.
Guests were welcomed with cocktails on the estate’s deck, enjoying the warm, breezy atmosphere. The couple made their grand entrance with their bridal party, kicking off the evening with their choreographed first dance to Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man.” Zoe’s dad gave a heartfelt welcome speech, inviting everyone into the sailcloth tent for the reception. It was such a sweet moment that perfectly captured their love story.
Zoe and Mike wanted their wedding to feel casual and fun, and they absolutely nailed it. The reception featured food stations with delicious, hand-held bites to keep everyone fueled for a night of dancing. The dance floor was packed, thanks to their incredible Motown-inspired band, which had also played at Mike’s sister’s wedding.
One of the highlights of the day was their golden retriever, Rudder, who proudly roamed the estate grounds during cocktail hour, leash in mouth, stealing everyone’s hearts. Rudder, who has been a part of Zoe and Mike’s journey since they first moved in together, added such a special touch to the day.
Later, Zoe and Mike also found a quiet moment for themselves, sneaking away to the estate house to cut their wedding cake privately. It was an intimate moment that allowed them to celebrate together before heading back to the festivities.
The colors of the day — whites, greens, and neutral beige with pops of coral and orange in Zoe’s bouquet and decor — complemented the vintage-garden-party vibe of the Daniel Webster Estate beautifully.
The entire day felt like a warm, breezy summer celebration. The love between Zoe and Mike, and the support of their friends and family, created an atmosphere that was both joyful and relaxed. In conclusion, guests left the evening exhausted from dancing but with hearts full of happiness.
Zoe and Mike’s story began in high school, where they hung out in the same circles but didn’t date until reconnecting in college. Their relationship grew stronger through years of long-distance as they pursued their education and careers. From Worcester to Boston, Florida to New Jersey, their love stayed constant.
Mike proposed in the sweetest way in June 2022, on Rexhame Beach in Marshfield. Rudder played a starring role, wearing a bandana that read, “Will you marry my dad?” After Zoe said yes, Mike surprised her with a party at his parents’ house, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Marshfield holds a special place in their hearts, as they had just purchased a home there. Therefore, it really was the perfect place to pick to host their wedding reception.
Zoe and Mike’s wedding was a perfect reflection of their love and personalities — warm, fun, and surrounded by the people and pup they cherish most. It was such an honor to capture their beautiful day at the Daniel Webster Estate, a truly stunning venue for Marshfield weddings. Wishing them a lifetime of love, laughter, and spontaneous adventures together!
