Lily and I go way back! We were best friends in junior high. Our group of friends called ourselves the 6pack. Yeah, guys really, we were that cool we had a name! We made up dances to all the boy band songs. But our favorite was Dream Street. We would stay up late talking about boys at our sleepovers in Lily’s basement. We would go to school dances and think we were so old and mature. I was heartbroken when I found out that Lily was moving away to Newton. Anyone that knows her knows that she was and is just a beautiful person inside and out. She is the best friend a friend could ask for. She would always be there to laugh, cry, be silly with or just be there to listen. She has a heart of gold.
When Lily moved away, with time, we sadly grew apart. Thankfully nowadays with social media, I have been able to follow her story and see what she has been up to. And I was so happy to see that she found the man of her dreams. A man that looks at her like she is the only person in the world. A man that can make her laugh so hard it hurts and see the lighter side of things, and most importantly a man that loves pizza as much as she does. Their original plan was to have a big fancy wedding in New York but Covid-19 had other plans. Lily and David decided to still tie the knot this summer with a very intimate ceremony in Lily’s parent’s back yard in Newton MA with all their friends and family watching via Zoom. They still plan to have a big celebration later this year as well.
It was a bright, hot, first day of summer for their ceremony. They read personal vows that made everyone tear up and Molly, Lily’s little sister, made a beautiful video of all the guests that couldn’t be there in person congratulating the newlyweds. It was hilarious… their guests really had a fun time with it and it was heartwarming. Lily’s sweet 96-year-old Grandmother was able to attend, which meant the world to Lily, her mom, and her grandmother. Their new Puppy, Georgie got to attend the special day as well and looked adorable in her flower collar, which I am pretty sure she thought was a mid-day snack! Molly’s roommate is a gardener and did the flowers for the event, gorgeously I must add. They had a cake brought in from their favorite cake shop in New York. It was a perfect day and I could not have been more honored to be part of an old friend’s wedding.
Love you, Lily! Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs! I am so beyond happy for you both. Cheers to you and many happy years!
Love, Ali
