Michaela and Michael’s wedding day at the stunning Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA, was a perfect celebration of love, adventure, and family. From their heartfelt ceremony at St. Agatha Parish in Milton to their breathtaking portraits overlooking the Boston skyline, their special day was a true reflection of their story.
With pastel summer hues of blue, pink, and purple adding a soft, romantic touch, and a dramatic, windy backdrop creating unforgettable moments, their wedding was nothing short of magical.
Michaela and Michael’s love story began with a little matchmaking, thanks to Michaela’s friend Allie and Michael’s cousin Jen. The pair hit it off instantly during a group date at Turner’s Seafood in Melrose, MA. After dinner, they extended their night with drinks and deeper conversation, setting the tone for a beautiful relationship.
When the pandemic turned the world upside down, Michaela and Michael found creative ways to stay connected, including six weeks of FaceTime dates and socially distanced outdoor meetups with their families. One fateful evening at Clask ‘N’ Flagon, Michael confidently declared, “We should date,” and Michaela replied with, “Yeah, we should.” That simple moment turned into a lifetime of love and adventure.
Michael’s proposal was straight out of a winter fairytale. While on a skiing trip to Okemo Mountain in Vermont, Michael scouted the perfect spot to pop the question. During a snowy afternoon run, he convinced Michaela to take “just one more.”
Pausing on the slopes, they shared a nip of Dr. McGillicuddy’s—what Michaela didn’t know was that the nip cleverly concealed her engagement ring. With snow gently falling, Michael got down on one knee and asked Michaela to marry him. It was the perfect moment for the adventurous couple, and Michaela said yes to forever.
Their wedding day began with a beautiful ceremony at St. Agatha Parish in Milton, MA. Surrounded by friends and family, Michaela and Michael exchanged vows in a timeless and elegant setting. The pastel summer colors tied everything together, creating a romantic ambiance for this unforgettable moment.
The couple’s reception at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA, was a breathtaking blend of sophistication and fun. While the day was sunny and bright, the wind played a starring role in their portraits, creating stunning veil shots with the Boston skyline in the background.
For a quieter moment, we ventured down to the nearby ruins—a serene and secluded spot just a short golf cart ride away. Here, Michaela and Michael escaped the gusts and shared intimate portraits amidst the historic backdrop. It was the perfect way to capture their love in the midst of a busy day.
Granite Links truly shined as the ultimate venue for their celebration. Michaela and Michael’s reception began with a Dabke—a traditional Lebanese dance where guests surrounded the newlyweds on the dance floor, lifted them up, and tossed money in celebration. The energy was infectious, and the love in the room was visible by all.
The rest of the evening was filled with laughter, lively dancing, and heartfelt toasts. Michaela and Michael’s fun, kind, and down-to-earth personalities made the day feel so special for everyone in attendance.
Michaela and Michael’s wedding was particularly meaningful for me, as it was the second wedding I’ve had the honor of photographing for this wonderful family. In the spring of 2023, I captured Michaela’s sister Emily and her husband Gage’s wedding. When Michaela called to say she was engaged, I couldn’t wait to work with their family again!
It’s always such a joy to see familiar faces and witness these beautiful milestones for families. Capturing both Emily and Michaela’s special days has been such an incredible honor.
Michaela and Michael’s Granite Links wedding was a stunning example of how love, adventure, and family can come together to create the perfect celebration. From the windy veil shots overlooking Boston to the lively Dabke dance that started their reception, every moment of their day was unforgettable.
If you’re planning a wedding at Granite Links Golf Club, in Boston, or anywhere else in New England, I’d love to help you capture every meaningful moment. Let’s work together to create timeless memories that you’ll treasure forever!
