Cape Cod Spring Mini Sessions

At the beginning of May, I had the pleasure of hosting my annual Cape Cod Spring Mini Sessions at Scusset Beach. With its picturesque paths, tall beach grass, and scenic jetty, Scusset Beach provides a stunning backdrop for capturing beautiful family portraits.

We had an incredible turnout with seven families, fourteen kids, one expecting couple, and two adorable dogs. Additionally, we had perfect skies with soft cloud coverage, creating a gentle and flattering light for all the sessions. Although it was a bit chillier then last year, everyone was a champ and rocked their sessions, making the day a great success!

A Mix of Familiar and New Faces

The day was a heartwarming blend of both familiar and new faces. I had the honor of photographing families that I’ve worked with year after year, watching their household grow. I also met some new families and reconnected with a particular group that I hadn’t seen in years. It was so wonderful to catch up and see how their children have grown!

Beach Mini Sessions

For beach mini-session events, I only photograph starting a few hours before sunset. This timing is crucial because, on a beach, there is no shade, and the mid-day sun can be too harsh for photos. By scheduling sessions in the late afternoon, we get the most beautiful, soft lighting that enhances every shot. This means space is limited, making each session even more special.
