As a wedding photographer, I’m always thrilled when I get to work with couples who are not only fun but, also genuinely wonderful people. Gen and Nik are exactly that kind of couple! I first met them in person at their friends’ wedding, Cate and David, where I noticed their infectious energy on the dance floor. From that moment, I knew their Fruitlands Museum wedding was going to be a blast, and I was so excited to be a part of it!
For their engagement session, we returned to Arnold Arboretum and Jamaica Pond, the same spots where they had their first dates. We had a blast, laughing the whole time! It’s always a good time when you’re around these two. You can check out some of their fun engagement session photos, on their blog post here.
One of the things I do with all my couples is have them fill out a questionnaire. This questionnaire to help with their wedding day timeline and photo list. When I saw that Gen and Nik had included a photo with me on their formal photo list, I was so touched! It’s just one example of how thoughtful and kind they are. It truly made my day!!
Gen and Nik are the kind of people you can’t help but want to be around. They’re fun, loving, and have such good hearts—and man, can they dance! I even joked with them that they need to give my husband some dance lessons, after watching them light up the dance floor at Cate and David’s wedding.
When it came time for their wedding, Gen and Nik wanted a day that was stress-free, fun, and filled with you guessed it… dancing! 🙂 They envisioned a garden vibe with lots of flowers, and personalized touches. The idea was for their wedding to mirror the natural colors of summer wildflowers, with each bridesmaid wearing a different color.
Fruitlands Museum was the perfect venue for their celebration. The outdoor setting, beautiful ceremony view, and easy going vibe made it the ideal location for their big day.
Their wedding day was everything they had hoped for and more. From the beautiful floral arrangements to the personalized details, everything came together so beautifully. The dance floor was packed all night, just as they had wanted and I’m pretty sure every guest left with sore feet and a big smile on their face — thanks to the amazing band Decades by Dezyne. They brought so much energy to the dance floor!
As someone who loves photographing at Fruitlands Museum, I couldn’t have been happier to capture their day. With its stunning views, amazing wedding team, and delicious food, Fruitlands is truly one of the best wedding venues in Massachusetts.
Gen and Nik told me after our virtual interview, that they felt I was the most engaging and excitable photographer they had met. They loved my clean and classic photography style and said that everything about the process felt fun and natural to them. Meeting them in person at Cate and David’s wedding only confirmed that we were the perfect match!
Gen and Nik, thank you for choosing me to be a part of your incredible journey. Your wedding day was a true reflection of your love, your personalities, and the amazing life you’re building together. I can’t wait to see where life takes you next! And I’ll always cherish the memories of your beautiful wedding.
