If this pandemic has taught us anything, it’s taught us that time passes quickly and to treasure every minute we have here on earth with our loved ones. This is something I know that the Lynch family has always known the value of. 5 years ago I had the honor of meeting and photographing Karen and Kevin’s wedding and getting to know their families. Since then, I have also had the privilege of photographing many events for Kevin and Karen’s non-profit, The Quell Foundation. The Quell Foundation creates a paradigm shift in the care and treatment of people with mental health illness and helps people who are struggling to know that they are not alone. This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart and I am so grateful they have allowed me to be a very small part of.
Knowing how much Kevin and Karen value their family and knowing that their family was only home for a short time meant we had to try and get this portrait session in right as a tropical storm was passing through! The weekend of the session we watched the weather anxiously waiting to see if we were going to get lucky! And thankfully we were able to sneak in a little time to get in their family portraits before the storm later that night. We were not going to let a few raindrops stop us from capturing their family’s love for one another and the pure joy they get from just being together!
We took their photos at their beautiful new home overlooking the water in New Seabury, Mashpee, MA and they wore jeans and matching salmon color Black Dog shirts for a fun relaxed Cape Cod summer look.
