When you are thinking of an elegant New England ballroom wedding, The Chocksett Inn in Sterling, MA, often comes to mind. This stunning venue, just a few minutes down the road from me, is one of my favorite places to capture love stories. And when I get to work with Tianna and the rest of the wedding coordination team at The Chocksett, I know the day will be seamless. They are some of the friendliest, kindest, and most professional people you’ll ever meet, making every wedding here a joy to photograph.

Monica and Kyle’s wedding day was no exception, even with a few unexpected twists! This easygoing and kind couple proved that no matter what happens, your wedding day can still be the best day ever.

When Things Don’t Go as Planned, Keep Smiling!

Monica and Kyle’s wedding day was one for the books. It rained, a fire alarm went off while Monica was getting ready, and Kyle even forgot to put the ring on Monica’s finger during the ceremony! But none of these hiccups could dampen their spirits. They embraced every moment, laughing it off and focusing on what truly mattered—celebrating their love and commitment to each other. This is the essence of a perfect wedding day: going with the flow and making memories that will last a lifetime.

A Love That Grew Over Time

Monica and Kyle’s love story began in the kitchen of a restaurant where they both worked. Monica was a server, and Kyle was in the kitchen. They were friends for about two years before Kyle finally asked Monica out during her junior year of college, right before her 21st birthday. They’ve been inseparable ever since!

Kyle proposed on a trip to Portsmouth, NH. After a fun night out enjoying good food, drinks, and laughter, Kyle suggested they stop by a state park along the ocean on their way home. It was supposed to be a cold, rainy day, but the morning turned out to be sunny and pleasant. While Monica was distracted by the view, Kyle took out a ring and popped the question. It was a perfect surprise, and of course, Monica said yes!

A Springtime Wedding at The Chocksett Inn

Monica and Kyle’s wedding was a beautiful celebration that reflected their personalities perfectly—fun, relaxed, and full of love. The theme was inspired by springtime, with lots of whites, soft greens, pinks, and gold accents. The venue was adorned with greenery and flowers, creating a fresh and elegant atmosphere.

The vibe of the day was anything but stuffy. There was good food (Kyle is a sous chef, after all!), great music, and plenty of dancing. Monica even did an outfit change later in the night, adding an extra layer of fun to the evening.

What They Love About Each Other

Monica and Kyle’s relationship is built on mutual respect, understanding, and a shared love for life’s simple pleasures. Monica loves that Kyle always knows how to make her feel better—he’s incredibly sweet, caring, and hardworking but also knows how to have fun. Kyle admires Monica’s intelligence, her unwavering support, and her ability to keep going while still enjoying the quiet moments together.
