Cape Cod Engagement Session at Sesuit Harbor Cafe & Mayflower Beach

A surprise thunderstorm, an adventurous couple, and a corgi cameo? Amanda and Matt’s Cape Cod engagement session had everything — and despite the rain, we captured pure magic from start to finish.

A Session Full of Joy (and a Little Chaos)

From our very first Zoom call, I knew Amanda and Matt were going to be a dream to work with. They’re the kind of couple who instantly feel like old friends — warm, welcoming, and always up for a good time.

We planned their Cape Cod engagement session at Sesuit Harbor Cafe and Mayflower Beach — two iconic and picturesque locations in Dennis, MA. And as a bonus? Their adorable corgi came along for the fun!

But just as we started photographing, a sudden thunderstorm rolled in. We sprinted for our cars (while texting and calling like mad: “Do we reschedule? Wait it out?!”). The radar had looked totally clear — but Mother Nature had other plans. Thankfully, within 10 minutes the skies cleared, and we picked up right where we left off. It was wild — but totally worth it.

Why I Love These Two

When I say Amanda and Matt are the best kind of couple, I mean it. They make each other laugh constantly, lean into the moment, and just genuinely enjoy each other’s company.

(Photographer’s dream alert! They were relaxed, happy, and totally themselves in front of the camera — making my job way too easy.)

These two met in 2020 on Hinge, and just two months into dating, Matt invited Amanda on a pre-planned trip to Sri Lanka. She said yes (because why not?!) and they’ve been adventuring together ever since. After navigating the pandemic, moving in together, and adding a corgi to the mix, they’re officially ready for the next chapter.

Sunset, Sand, and Sweet Snuggles

Once the storm passed, the light at Mayflower Beach was absolutely stunning. We got the most romantic skies, soft sand, and glowing light to wrap up the session — and even a few more adorable corgi moments before we called it a day.

And if you’re wondering… yes — we definitely got all the rain out of the way that day, because their Willowbend wedding? 100% sunshine and joy. (Stay tuned for that blog post — it’s coming soon!)
