A Romantic Fruitlands Museum Wedding in Harvard, MA

Some wedding days are beautiful because of the details. Others are beautiful because of the location. And then there are weddings like Lauren and Mike’s wedding at Fruitlands Museum, where every single piece comes together to create something truly unforgettable.

From the moment I arrived, I knew this day was going to be special. The weather could not have been more perfect for an October wedding in New England. The crisp fall air, sunshine-filled skies, and dreamy golden light made this one of those wedding days photographers dream about. Every corner of Fruitlands Museum seemed to glow, creating the most beautiful backdrop for a couple who are just as wonderful on the inside as they are on the outside.

And trust me when I say, Lauren and Mike are the kind of couple you instantly adore.

A Love Story Years in the Making

Lauren and Mike’s story began thanks to one of Lauren’s older brothers. Although Mike had known her brother for years, the two somehow never crossed paths until a Christmas party several years ago. Even then, they didn’t really connect. It wasn’t until years later that the timing was finally right.

Fast forward to their first date, countless adventures together, and a surprise proposal on top of Gunstock Mountain—the same place they spent their very first weekend getaway—and here they were, surrounded by the people they love most, ready to begin their next chapter together.

Before their wedding, Lauren described Mike as “the calm to my chaos,” while Mike shared that Lauren is “the most beautiful person inside and out.” After spending a wedding day with them, I can confidently say they are the perfect fit.

Romantic Fall Details Inspired by New England

Lauren and Mike envisioned a wedding day filled with romantic outdoor vibes, natural textures, and timeless details— and every element came together beautifully. Their color palette of earthy greens, warm browns, champagne tones, and lush greenery felt perfectly at home against the stunning October backdrop at Fruitlands Museum.

The bridesmaids wore soft sage-green dresses that complemented the surrounding landscape, while the groomsmen’s rich brown suits added warmth and a unique touch that felt both elevated and seasonally perfect.

One of my favorite details was Lauren’s wedding dress. Her flowy Stella York gown featured delicate floral lace details sewn throughout the design, making it feel like it was made specifically for a romantic outdoor wedding. The soft movement of the dress paired beautifully with the natural scenery and perfectly complemented the earthy, elegant aesthetic of the day.

Copper Penny Flowers created gorgeous floral arrangements filled with organic greenery and romantic blooms that enhanced the natural beauty of the venue without competing with the breathtaking views.

From the elegant mirror signage and Polaroid guest book to the heartfelt “Generations of Love” display featuring wedding photos of family members throughout the years, every detail felt intentional and meaningful. Together, these thoughtful touches created a celebration that was both sophisticated and deeply personal—a perfect reflection of Lauren and Mike’s love story.

A First Look Filled with Joy

One of my favorite parts of the day was Lauren and Mike’s first look. After spending the morning getting ready with their closest friends and family, they shared a private moment together before the ceremony. The nerves instantly melted away as soon as they saw each other. These two have such a natural connection. Whether they were laughing together, holding hands, or simply taking in the moment, every interaction felt genuine and effortless.

Because they chose to do a first look, we were also able to capture many of their wedding party and family portraits before the ceremony, allowing them to spend more time enjoying cocktail hour and celebrating with their guests afterward.

Saying “I Do” With a View

With family and friends gathered overlooking the stunning Fruitlands landscape, Lauren and Mike exchanged vows and officially became husband and wife. The ceremony was heartfelt, emotional, and full of smiles.

One of the things Lauren and Mike told me before the wedding was that they wanted their guests to leave saying, “Wow, they are really in love.” Watching them during their ceremony, there was no doubt everyone in attendance felt exactly that.

A Rolls Royce Entrance and Golden Hour Magic

Lauren made a stylish entrance in a beautiful Rolls Royce for the ceremony, adding an extra touch of elegance to an already incredible day.

Not only was it such a fun and unique addition to their wedding day, but it also gave us the opportunity to create some incredible portraits afterward. Some of my favorite images from the day were taken with the two of them inside the car, soaking in those first moments as newlyweds. As if the day hadn’t already delivered enough beauty, sunset arrived and completely showed off.

Fruitlands Museum is known for its incredible views, and Lauren and Mike were treated to the kind of golden-hour light photographers dream about. The warm sunshine, rolling hills, and vibrant October landscape created the perfect setting for some truly breathtaking portraits.

Oysters, Celebration, and a Packed Dance Floor

Lauren and Mike wanted their wedding day to feel fun, memorable, and uniquely them—and it absolutely did. Instead of a traditional cake cutting, they shared oysters together, a perfect nod to one of their favorite date-night activities. It was such a personal touch and one that had everyone smiling.

The reception was filled with heartfelt speeches, a beautifully choreographed first dance, touching parent dances, and a packed dance floor thanks to the incredible energy from Meritage Entertainment. Guests also enjoyed thoughtful personal details throughout the reception, including a Polaroid guest book, beautiful mirror signage, and the meaningful “Generations of Love” display. Every detail felt intentional and reflected who Lauren and Mike are as a couple.

The Perfect Ending to a Perfect Day

As the evening came to a close, Lauren and Mike shared a private last dance together before the night ended. It was the perfect way to pause, soak it all in, and celebrate the beginning of married life together. Their wedding was romantic, joyful, elegant, and filled with genuine love from beginning to end.
