I have been running my own wedding photography business for over 14 years now, and what I have found is life is so much easier with a good app!
I’ve tried my fair share of apps and have narrowed down my top favorites for this post, that I believe every business owner should have in their corner! Well some of these are not really apps pre-say I wouldn’t want to run my business without them! So of course I had to make sure they were included!
Not really an app per-say but Dubsado is to good not to have on this list. It’s my CRM. I wouldn’t be able to run my business without it. Dubsado is an amazing project management system that makes it easy to manage projects and clients.

Descript is an amazing tool for anyone that wants to add video content into their business. It allows you to edit audio and video using a simple and intuitive interface.
One of the coolest features in Descript I think is that you can easily remove filler words like “um” and “uh”. You can even change the words spoken in the audio by editing the corresponding text!!! Like WHAT? I know – thats crazy, right!!

Canva is a design app that makes designing quick and easy. They have design templates that you can update to make your own or just start new.
I make all my guides, PDF Freebies, web graphics… anything visual in canva. It makes designing easy and quick!
Also I love their “Magic Write”. I am not a great writer and staring at a blank page can be very intimidating. “Magic Write” give you something to start from and gets your creative juices flowing! I use it to write social media posts, blogs, emails and more!!!
They have a free account option and a paid. I use the paid for the easy and convenience of having all my brand colors and fonts saved in the app.
I can not say enough about Notion! Notion is a must have app in my business! It is such a powerful tool and loved by all that use it. If you have never heard of it – to give you an idea of what it – It’s like excel and Trello combine on steroids!
I keep track of all my weddings, their timelines, booking rate, second photographers, to do lists, personal life info and so much more with this powerful app. And the best part is its FREE – for the most part. I use Notion to keep track of A LOT! and I just very recently had to upgrade to a paid account! So you can do a lot with the free option!
I didn’t see what all the hype was about these 2 apps at the beginning of 2022 but over the last year, as I have grown my team, I have learned how helpful and powerful they are! They make is so easy for groups of people to chat in one place and for your team to talk real time without having to always be in your email.
My favorite parts is the walkie-talkie feature! Also being able to easily send documents, link and other files back and forth. It is like having a virtual office with your team members.
I tend to use Voxer for one on ones or small groups every day chats and Slack for larger groups with less walkie-talkie chats more file sharing.
Zapier is an online automation tool that connects with all your favorite apps, such as Gmail, Slack, and Notion! It allows you to automate repetitive tasks and increase your productivity!
I use Zapier to bring information from Dubsado to my Notion account. It will save you so much time and effort by automating tedious and redundant tasks, and workflows.
Another, not really app per-say but a must on the list is Flodesk! Flodesk brings the pretty to email marketing! I switched over to Flodesk about 2 years ago and I will never look back. It is super easy to use and makes your emails look like you spent hours designing them.

I love google drive for sharing documents with my clients, team, business coaches and mastermind groups I am a part of. Google Drive is great for storing any documents you may need on the go or my need to share! I wish I had taken full advantage of this awesome app a long time ago!
I use Tailwind to plan and schedule my Pinterest pins! Pinterest is something I am really trying to up my game in this year! Tailwind can also be used to schedule your Instragram posts as well.

Lastly, I use all 3 of these apps for listening to books and podcasts well I am editing, driving and walking. While walking, driving or editing I love listening to educational resources to get my creative mind going!
Audible is a paid membership. The Podcasts app is free. My (and I am sure your) local library’s app is free too.
